About Our Bulk Roasted Cashews
Cashews trace their origin to South America. Originally found in what’s currently northeastern Brazil, they have been an essential part of humanity’s nutrition since their discovery. Cashew seeds are actually the seed of the cashew pear (or the cashew fruit, or cashew apple). Now the modern society simply calls them ‘cashews’.
Botanically, the cashews we know today are seeds, not nuts. However, for culinary purposes, professionals still consider them to be nuts.
Another interesting fact: their shells contain toxins deadly to humans. That is why we never sell them in their shells. Mostly southern Asia, including Vietnam and India, cultivate cashews the most today.
Their culinary uses.
Culinary professionals use cashew seeds, such as our bulk roasted cashews, very similarly as nuts in modern cuisine. They are famous for their high levels of starch, which tree nuts generally do not provide. This makes bulk roasted cashews more versatile than nuts.

Like many nuts, our bulk roasted cashews contain high levels of oil. We recommend refrigeration, as they can only be stored in the pantry for 2 to 4 weeks before they spoil. In the fridge, cashews will stay fresh for up to 6 months. If you freeze, they will keep for up to 12 months.
