Bulk Organic Apricots
Our Bulk Organic Apricots are exactly like our Dried Apricots – but only without the added sulfur. Sulfur is added to Apricots in order to preserve the bright orange color that they have when they are fresh. These organic apricots are more expensive due to the missing sulfur, however, many believe it makes them more delicious.
About Our Bulk Organic Apricots
Apricots have been known to ancient Armenians for thousands of years. Alexander the Great introduced the fruit to the Ancient Greeks. Ancient cultures that cultivated the apricot include the ancient Persians, Romans, Greeks, and Armenians. The orange colored fruit only made it to the New World in the 1600s BCE, when brought to the English colonies by settlers. Today, the United States is a significant contributor to the world’s production of apricots. And they grow the bulk of them in California and some in Washington.
Dried Bulk Organic Apricots are popular for their wonderful texture, sweet yet tart flavor, and moistness.
Our customers often enjoy them as a simple yet nutritious snack. Just like they do in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Bulk Organic Apricots are also a wonderful addition to greek yogurt or whole oats. You can also chop them up and add into your muffin batter as well.
You can store our Bulk Organic Apricots in a cool, dark environment like your pantry or your fridge for up to 12 months. If you properly seal and freeze them instead, they will stay fresh even longer.
Bulk Organic Apricots contain significant levels of beta-carotene. It is a nutrient found in most orange-colored fruits and vegetables, that metabolizes into vitamin A in the body. Also, they are rich in niacin and vitamin B6.
